We are very happy to announce, that we will be able to have again a session about High-Performance Communications for High-Performance Computing at SC14 in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Reserve already now the date: Tuesday, November 18, 4:30PM – 5:30PM, at booth #3756
The goal of this session at SC ’14 is to demonstrate the many ways in which “Outreach Matters.” The key mission for an Outreach Team is to engage with a variety of publics (stakeholders) on a regular basis: government, industry, media, employees, academia, and community. This session will focus on how an Outreach team manages stakeholder relations.
An initial 10-minute session will focus on the overarching theme of strategies for engaging publics. A follow-up session will highlight a specific outreach communication strategy to engage and inform a specific public. The session will conclude with plenty of time for discussion and best practice sharing among the participants in attendance.
We believe that effective public relations outreach from an individual HPC center strengthens public relations, generally, for the broader community. Therefore, by helping each other we help ourselves. This session is suitable for outreach practitioners employed at HPC facilities, managers of outreach teams/people, and technical staff who are required to do outreach as part of their job role.
For this session we will have the contribution of:
Helen Gardiner – VLSCI Life Sciences Computation Centre
Jack Wells – Oak Ridge National Laboratory
